Cherie was born in December 1978. Cherie's father is Charles Arnold Carter and her mother is Rosalie "Sheila" Blanche Ivey (Carter). Her maternal grandfather was John Patrick Ivey and her maternal grandmother is Rosallie Blanche Blackwell (Ivey). She has a brother and a sister, named Charles and Alissa.
