James was born on March 12th, 1878 in TX.  James' father was Michael Fox and his mother was Mary Chambliss (Fox).  His paternal grandparents were Francis Fox and Wife Unknown (Fox). He had eight brothers and two sisters, named John, William, Oscar, Mac, Fred, Louis, Daniel, Robert, Martha and Mary.  He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 70 in 1948 in TX.
